Yeah I was intimidated when this bear got in the water and started coming towards me and a friend in waders in the river.

I can certainly understand why E.J.! Looks like he's been through a few battles already with that nasty looking puncture on his right leg. Some how I don't think that was caused by a tripod leg! Nice comp and exposure.

That was no doubt a friggin awesome experience. Waders would have done me no good as i would have been wet anyways. :D Beautiful shot.

What an image....intense, to say the least. What ended up happening?

The bear kept coming and we knew we had no chance of getting out of the water in the time that it would take the bear to close the distance. So we just got as wide as we could between the two of us and our tripods with gear to present a large and more imposing target. he went by us and gave us a sideways glance and snarled.

If that isn't intimidating I'm not too sure what would be! The low perspective is just the ticket to give the viewer that same sense.

Amazing image just by itself E.J., but reading your description of how things unfolded give it even more impact. Incredible.

Beautiful light and a very imposing glare you are getting. I hope you snarled back at him when he went by to show him who's boss :)

Very nice looking bear and great light... he looks a little battle scarred. Comp is a bit centered, but under the circumstances, will have to do!

I am sure your pulses were facing with this battle scarred furball coming towards you with that fixed stare of intent! You still got the shot though!
