Adobe Releases Camera Raw 5.2

 

Adobe has released updates to its Camera Raw Plug-in for Photoshop CS4, Version 5.2. 

This update covers seven new cameras, including Canon's 5D Mark II and G 10, and Panasonic's LX3.

In addition, Adobe has added some new features such as output sharpening, targeted adjustments and storage of adjustment steps for application to other images.

It was that time of the year again. Where would this year’s annual bird photography trip take me? For the last 8 years, my trips have taken me up north to Finland and always in the depths of winter. There is something compelling about Finland or, I should say, Northern Scandinavia. Perhaps it’s the light, the vast, empty spaces, the sheer beauty of the countryside in the depths of winter. It’s all of that and, of course, the beautiful birds. I have never been disappointed, always coming home with good images: Pine Grosbeak, Cedar Waxwing, mating Golden Eagle, Crested Tit and Northern Bullfinch, just to name a few.

Registering Your Copyrights Using the eCO System

While the copyrights for your photographs are created at the click of the shutter, the best way to protect your photographs is to register them with the U.S. Copyright Office. You can register the images yourself, but mistakes in the process can limit your rights.

Last year was highly fulfilling for me in terms of photography, and I had more goals for this year, building on everything I felt was going well. However, as they say, life is what happens while you’re making other plans. A number of things didn’t work out as needed, and most of my photography goals were scuttled. I fell into a photographic funk, and passed through most of the spring and summer hardly picking up a camera. It was a downward spiral – the more I didn’t photograph, the more I soured about my photography. It took a simple, repeated suggestion and a small pepper plant to help me reconnect with my enjoyment of photography.
